a better night

My last post shows that I am a bit of a drama queen because the girls did really well last night and the handyman got a great night’s sleep in the basement.  I think it is the pregnancy insomnia of June and July that has just done me in and I just can’t feel caught up on anything close to resembling a decent amount of sleep which makes me a little crazy these days.

I am teaching my last lab tonight (woo hoo) and turning in those grades and I am feeling better already.  I am glad we found the holistic doctor and a friend who teaches in a nursing program has gotten us some resources as well.  I am type A (minus) and just need to feel like progress is being made, you know what I mean?

I went to this hideous thing called the Fantasy of Trees with my mother and her friend on Sunday.  I do not do well in crowds and this thing was freaking packed, like a professional football game crowd packed.  Both T and I were near complete meltdown after 20 minutes so we separated from the others to find some kid friendly space.  I decided it was definitely time for us to go when after she had been playing in this little pink car they provided for toddler fun for less than 5 minutes, another mother stood staring (really glaring) at us with her little girl all dolled up for the massive photo shoot I suppose in the little pink car so I pulled T away who then proceeded to have a real meltdown and the woman looked at me as I carried a screaming, kicking toddler from the area and said ‘Merry Christmas’ and I literally said ‘Yea, well F&*k Off.’  Oops.  So, we went to the fourth floor of the convention center and wandered around empty halls and found a couch for me to nurse the baby on and T to jump on and off.  Much better.  If my mom had not decided to leave we were going to hit the library.  I can’t understand what makes things like that even remotely fun.

  • This is why I love you. I only wish I could’ve been there to see the look on that woman’s face.

  • Type A (minus)…I love it!

I’m not a fan of holiday “fun” either, “most wonderful time of the year” my ass.

Glad everyone got a good night’s sleep though. That can do wonders for a family!

  • Yeah, we went too but it wasn’t too bad when we went. I’m not sure I could have handled it being that busy. Anna wasn’t really that thrilled about the trees either. :( Glad I didn’t pay money!!
